110 - What Is Your BIG Question?
Share
Mine is:
What is real?
I always enjoy that question.
Someone else asks:
What does it mean to be human?
I'm not sure my current work is so much about 'what is real', although it may come round to it. For example: I created multiple sets of the same poses but used different colours in each set. The colours with the random forms generate or suggest different emotions. When you compare the sets you are more aware of the technique because you notice you feel something different where the colours and shapes are different. When you notice, you become aware of the what may be triggering your response. The artifice is exposed (but celebrated at the same time, as you imagine stories, inner worlds and emotions).
And on a more logistical note, today, Faber Laser delivered all the birch ply tiles I needed to complete my artworks in time for the submission deadline I want to meet. I wrote them a 5 star review. Thank you Faber Laser!
There are pungent wafts of burnt, birch tiles and cut rose swirling around my living room studio.
