156 - Catching Up

156 - Catching Up

Finally feel like I'm starting to catch up. The to do list for the tiled pieces is still quite long, but it's loose ends now.

I'm dying to get the latest work into my portfolio on here (the website) but it's tricky as I don't have the right photographic lighting. With a photographic lamp and (I'm guessing) one of those umbrella things that bounces the light around evenly, I'll be able to photograph each set when I've mounted them on the wall.

Alternatively (which is how I've done it provisionally) I can photograph each tile and join them together as a set in Photoshop to create a composite picture. But the (day) light tends to vary slightly on each tile and it's hard to get a consistent exposure.

I'm still waiting for a new computer. I still need to finish the painting and decorating in my living room (which will provide a clean background) and I still need to finish all the loose ends.

On the upside, Open Studios next year will be really easy as I've done all the work. I can have a proper show at my house.

Macmillan Cancer Support

This year I challenged myself to write one blog post per day, for 365 days. The project began on 3 March 2025.

I have linked this challenge to a charity fundraiser, because I want to look outside as well as inwards and contribute to society. It also holds me accountable and adds motivation to write everyday.

Macmillan is an organistation that offers powerful help to anyone (in the UK) who has been affected by cancer.
