161 - Blokes

It's a strange thing but there seem to be more men who want to pose nude for artists than women who want to pose nude for artists, and conversely more people seem to want to draw nude women than nude men.
I'm going by a couple of unscientific overviews. One was my experience trying to find a model for a session I wanted to run locally. I signed up to a Facebook site and a dedicated website for artist's models. I had 99% replies from keen men. No ick picks luckily.
The second is my experience with the online modelling scene which I've chatted about in previous posts. There only seem to be a handful of male models on the rotating roster.
In any case, here are some of my drawings of blokes.
These two guys are from the online figure drawing sessions roster. Very professional. One of the male models online was an actor, and one day he decided to show off his skills for a portrait in which he began with a totally deadpan face, brought his emotional state to tears and then back to deadpan again. I was a bit non-plussed.
Above is Simon - he also used to do a lot of work as a male stripper for hen parties. I was pretty shocked by his sheer physical presence and volume in the room when he posed at Studio 53. He must have spent a lot of time lifting weights.
One of the regular guys who used to bring his own props. The staff was one of his favourites. Men often seem to like dramatic poses. But Simon (the stripper) was very relaxed.
