164 - The Luck Factor

164 - The Luck Factor

I'm still so behind on all my day job work, that blog posts are a bit skimpy.

Here is a book recommendation for The Luck Factor by Richard Wiseman.

"Richard Wiseman holds Britain’s only Professorship in the Public Understanding of Psychology at the University of Hertfordshire, and has published over 100 academic papers examining the psychology of magic and illusion, deception, luck and self-development."

It's all about how people make their own luck. It analyses the behaviour of lucky people to reveal the secrets of their luck, such as going with their gut instinct or intuition, noticing their surroundings, seeing opportunities and taking the opportunities with an optimistic outlook and turning 'unlucky' situations into lucky ones (as in the silver lining).

Macmillan Cancer Support

This year I challenged myself to write one blog post per day, for 365 days. The project began on 3 March 2025.

I have linked this challenge to a charity fundraiser, because I want to look outside as well as inwards and contribute to society. It also holds me accountable and adds motivation to write everyday.

Macmillan is an organistation that offers powerful help to anyone (in the UK) who has been affected by cancer.
