168 - Packing Peanuts

168 - Packing Peanuts

I got caught out by some packing peanuts today.

There was a horrible big bag of this nefarious packaging clogging up a corner of my box room.

Assuming the best and expecting them to be water soluble, I poured the whole sackful into the bath.

But the pesky peanuts were water resistant! Luckily I realised before I turned the tap on full. A bag of wet packing peanuts going stinky would be even worse than a bag of dry ones.

I scooped them out of the bath with a dustpan and brush. They tinkled innocently into the bag with the sound of gentle wind chimes. Strangely there were a few stray eco-friendly ones in there shaped like fat Wotsits.

Macmillan Cancer Support

This year I challenged myself to write one blog post per day, for 365 days. The project began on 3 March 2025.

I have linked this challenge to a charity fundraiser, because I want to look outside as well as inwards and contribute to society. It also holds me accountable and adds motivation to write everyday.

Macmillan is an organistation that offers powerful help to anyone (in the UK) who has been affected by cancer.
