188 - Collecteurs

Having spent a few hours knocking a few bricks into my website today, I searched for myself incognito to see if my website information is being picked up. The Google AI summary was fairly accurate, and my latest blog posts were showing so that is something.

AI suggested I check out www.collecteurs.com which I did. Good. Really interesting art really interesting site. It's very unusual for artists and collectors to have the option to connect in 'circles'. I was somewhat pulled in when I read another (not so good) autogenerated AI profile of myself on there with a button next to it saying 'claim this profile'. I am waiting for them to verify me as the REAL Frankie Sinclair heh heh.

The company is a Public Benefit Corporation (PBC), and legally committed to serving culture before profit.

Quote from their about page:

"Art is hidden in storage spaces and freeports.
Social media platforms censor and erase.
Culture is fading due to oppressive funding.
What if a platform did the opposite?"

This article published on Flash Art by Evrim Oralkan (one founder of Collecteurs) is an interesting read, challenging the status quo and challenging us to break the 'cyclical struggle between innovation and conservation'.

Macmillan Cancer Support

This year I challenged myself to write one blog post per day, for 365 days. The project began on 3 March 2025.

I have linked this challenge to a charity fundraiser, because I want to look outside as well as inwards and contribute to society. It also holds me accountable and adds motivation to write everyday.

Macmillan is an organistation that offers powerful help to anyone (in the UK) who has been affected by cancer.
