195 - Not Enough Rejection

195 - Not Enough Rejection

When I started watching this video by Marko, it reminded me of the film Parasite. Marko goes round a fantastically rich area offering a free painting or mural project. I wondered what he was really up to and it seemed the homeowners were wondering the same thing.

But I was hooked by his commitment and ability to handle rejection. Whether or not it was all staged, and whether or not the millionaire philanthropist will want to call in his favour, who knows. I learnt something from it and the whole thing reminded me of one key thing: I need more rejection. I need to be out there, applying for things, knocking on door and sharing. And that just goes along with building up a long list of rejections. You really need to stack up a lot sometimes to get the funding, or the sale or the patronage.

Loved this film. If you haven't seen it, give it a go. Crime, comedy and a slash of horror.

Macmillan Cancer Support

This year I challenged myself to write one blog post per day, for 365 days. The project began on 3 March 2025.

I have linked this challenge to a charity fundraiser, because I want to look outside as well as inwards and contribute to society. It also holds me accountable and adds motivation to write everyday.

Macmillan is an organistation that offers powerful help to anyone (in the UK) who has been affected by cancer.
