21 - Meanwhile at Shredenhams Bristol

21 - Meanwhile at Shredenhams Bristol

Bristol this weekend. We played darts and drank craft beer at this ginourmous indoor skatepark Shredenhams. It's only there until the developer is ready to demolish the old Debenhams building. There's also a massive project in the ex-Marks and Spencer building called Sparks (independent designers and crafters mainly).

I loved the street ethos in this, as opposed to the cookie cutter / pasta piper style of a commercial offering. It reminded me of the skaters under the Royal Festival Hall on the South Bank. They just skate. It's free. One evening, I watched a group of cyclists on the upper level achieve a kind of ballet on bikes. They were playing classical music and videoing it. There was no-one else around. It was an incredible non-event.

Cass beat me hands down at darts.

Macmillan Cancer Support

This year I challenged myself to write one blog post per day, for 365 days. The project began on 3 March 2025.

I have linked this challenge to a charity fundraiser, because I want to look outside as well as inwards and contribute to society. It also holds me accountable and adds motivation to write everyday.

Macmillan is an organistation that offers powerful help to anyone (in the UK) who has been affected by cancer.
