225 - Party Planning

In London I lived on the top floor of an old Guinness Trust block in Belgravia. The kitchen was big enough for a full, dinner party sized table. I painted the room gloss white, which looked amazing, until the sun yellowed the paint.

I had a party with a cocktail sticks theme.

Raw jelly, turkish delight, cucumber and olives.

Or tomato, baked bean and cheddar cheese.

The bathroom was huge as well, because of the way the flat was converted up to modern standards. I loved the flat, but socially, Belgravia was a weird, desolate place to live. I'm glad to have left, but I do still have a friend who lives there with one or other of his adult kids and a lodger.

And I still have the chair an old man gifted to me when I had no furniture, in the early days.

Macmillan Cancer Support

This year I challenged myself to write one blog post per day, for 365 days. The project began on 3 March 2025.

I have linked this challenge to a charity fundraiser, because I want to look outside as well as inwards and contribute to society. It also holds me accountable and adds motivation to write everyday.

Macmillan is an organistation that offers powerful help to anyone (in the UK) who has been affected by cancer.
