290 - Full Set Christmas In Space

290 - Full Set Christmas In Space

Since it is nearly Christmas I'm more in the mood to view this set of 12 Christmas Cards. You have to be in the mood for it. I've looked at these so many times it does feel like turkey salad, turkey curry and turkey on cornflakes by now.

Twelve was probably pushing it a bit. I designed 12 on the advice of a greetings card trade association. I think 'tinsel attack', 'Christmas dinner in space' and the Christmas jumper ones were the most popular. If I get them reprinted I'll redo these. Some of them don't need slogans or titles. I wanted the set to be consistent so they all had them but in retrospect, it's unnecessary. As usual, I found the graphic design the most tortuous part. And for some reason I lost the font halfway through the project. Possibly an old font which didn't come with a later OS? Not sure but I spent ages finding a matching one and fitting it to the existing designs.

The photography part was a lot of fun. I set up a studio in the back garden. So I was tinkering with a scene of kitsch Christmas, surrounded by chirruping frogs, snails and greenery.

Macmillan Cancer Support

This year I challenged myself to write one blog post per day, for 365 days. The project began on 3 March 2025.

I have linked this challenge to a charity fundraiser, because I want to look outside as well as inwards and contribute to society. It also holds me accountable and adds motivation to write everyday.

Macmillan is an organistation that offers powerful help to anyone (in the UK) who has been affected by cancer.
