294 - Next Year

I'm starting to think about my goals for next year. I haven't fully committed yet, but I'm thinking of:

Getting a studio set up in my house

Currently I create art in the living room and I do my eBay retail work in the box room and the living room. I'm thinking of switching my bed and wardrobe into the box room and moving most of the art and eBay activities into what is currently the bedroom. I will leave my computer in the living room. I sit at right angles to the french windows so that I can turn and see sky. Also, I use the computer for entertainment and leisure as well as work. 

This plan should leave me with a clear wall space in the new 'studio'.

Decorating

As part of this process, I need to do a lot of decorating. The prospect is a bit overwhelming. I will break the job down into chunks and start with the living room. I'll find an odd jobs person to help with some of the dismantling and re-mantling.

I have actually painted over the beige wall and I did the floor grey. But the floor paint is a bit of a disaster. It gets dirty and the doesn't clean up properly without literally painting another coat. It will have to do until I can afford to put some kind of new flooring down.

Exhibitions

Once I've swapped everything around and decorated, I can plan some exhibitions for friends and family at the house, as well as 'open studios' which is in June. I really want to get more sociable in my home and that goes along with making it more welcoming. I tend to be in work mode a lot at home and never spend enough time making it a pleasant environment. It's so worth the effort and feels to enjoyable when it's done.

Four exhibitions in a year would be great. Or at least three: Spring, Summer and Christmas 2026.
