318 - Silver Spoon

318 - Silver Spoon

At the Guildhall today: a giant silver spoon. More than a metre long.

And this is a sort of aristocratic selfie station. It normally has an ornate chair underneath which is a throne for the Mayor to sit on.

These photos are just iphone snaps.

Can't remember if I mentioned this, but I noticed an unresolved thread in the photography work from 2011 - 2012. I've made a folder for it called 'empty objects'. It's about the art and artifice of presentational objects. For example, jewellery shop window displays after the jewellery is removed from them at night (to be kept in the safe). Also, attempts to beautify ugly areas. Gravel poured into empty flower boxes. And cracks and flaws in the attempts.
