327 - The Nameless Gradient

I wonder if it's true to say, that every surface we see off-screen, reflects a gradient of light, and therefore shows a gradient of colour?
Perhaps with controlled lighting, it would be possible to create an area of colour perfectly even in a limited area? But there would always be a flaw. So can we say that everything we see off-screen is a gradient of colour?
'The Nameless Gradient' are the first words that appear in this emotionally resonant film that explores the philosophy of colour in Japan. What a beautiful and informative film. I feel inspired to learn the Japanese language!
