Very interesting radio show Thinking Allowed - Colour In Film on BBC Radio 4 here, introducing some research by scholars on the history of colour in film (before the digital age).
The colour wasn't only dependent on the film it was shot on, but also the film it was printed onto (to create copies for distribution).
I'd like to read The Rainbow's Gravity by Kirsty Sinclair (not to be confused with Kassia St. Clair who wrote The Secret Lives of Colour.
