362 - Two Astrids

I love watching Astrid, aka 'Astrid et Raphaëlle' - it's a Franco-Belgian detective television series about a detective duo: Commander Coste (Raphaëlle) who is an empathic, female, high ranking detective inspector and her partner in solving crime, Astrid - a genius female crime archivist with autistic traits.
Being a nerdy person with very sociable friends, I can relate to this pair and I find the show fascinating. And the acting especially Sara Mortensen as Astrid Nielsen is knockout.
Plus it's all a bit of a rom com and all's well that ends well.

But the interesting thing I wanted to mention is that Channel 4 is running two shows based on the same script.
There's the original Franco-Belgian version that I just mentioned, and also, a British version set in York. It is titled Patience (Patience is the alternative Astrid character).
It had been some months since I'd watched the Astrid series and I picked up Patience by chance. I couldn't understand why I knew the plot but I also knew I hadn't watched the show before.
Finally I realised it was a British version. It's so interesting to see what is considered more appealing to a UK audience. I prefer the original version because Astrid is played so well. Also, I enjoy discovering another country through the series. I'm not very excited by a medieval City when I actually live in one.
