64 - Procrastination

64 - Procrastination

I procrastinated all weekend around drawing. There was lots of blog post writing and sorting through past work. Yesterday evening I drew trash can fodder. Today things improved a bit but not much.

I really need to book a model for some soft, rounded poses viewed from the back. I've been procrastinating about that too, unable to decide who to contact. Finally I reached out to a London based model today and I'm waiting for her to get back to me.

Meantime, I'm working with the closest reference material I have which is mostly Nasim. But the drawing feels compromised because these aren't the right poses. With her elbows and angularity, Nasim will be perfect for the drawing I plan to do on a roll of paper (with zig zags drawn all across it). But the roll of paper has only just been ordered and won't arrive until later in the week.

Also I really want it to be perfect and great which is a killer for starters.

Anyway here's what I came up with. The group of drawings on one sheet is me trying to warm up, having already been drawing for over an hour. The first and last here I quite like. And the sheet of little drawings on the dotted paper is ideas for the back-view poses.

Macmillan Cancer Support

This year I challenged myself to write one blog post per day, for 365 days. The project began on 3 March 2025.

I have linked this challenge to a charity fundraiser, because I want to look outside as well as inwards and contribute to society. It also holds me accountable and adds motivation to write everyday.

Macmillan is an organistation that offers powerful help to anyone (in the UK) who has been affected by cancer.
