88 - Family Moment

Having been at work all day in an office (albeit the office of Scrace and the team), I'm tired and I feel more like napping than blogging.

So I snapped a couple of pages from an A3 sketchbook to fulfil my daily post pledge. They must be about 15 years old and one of them is a forgotten drawing of my brother with his son at my parents house. On the left, my grandmother Nell in the Karuselli chair. It is a mid Century modern classic chair by Finnish designer Yrjö Kukkapuro - a spinning fixture in M&D's home for almost as long as I can remember. It's not that comfortable, but fun to spin around in and lovely to look at.

I have no idea what all those Peanuts inspired, helmet wearing children were all about, but I like the nostril on this one.

These are obviously nothing to do with family but they were a couple of pages along in the sketchbook and I like them.

Thank you parents ☺️ I must have drawn those family ones and shut the sketchbook and not opened it for 15 years. I will do prints for you x

Hi
I have just seen these cartoons for the first time.
Really good – great ideas and likenesses and I particularly like the lovers. Have you considered doing some large prints for sale of that one? xx

I felt VERY nostalgic looking at these cartoon like drawings. You have captured Granny, Grant and Carter so well!!!

You have a really highly developed sense for drawing cartoons! ESSENCE is everything in drawing I feel!

Macmillan Cancer Support

This year I challenged myself to write one blog post per day, for 365 days. The project began on 3 March 2025.

I have linked this challenge to a charity fundraiser, because I want to look outside as well as inwards and contribute to society. It also holds me accountable and adds motivation to write everyday.

Macmillan is an organistation that offers powerful help to anyone (in the UK) who has been affected by cancer.
