Booboo Kiki ASMR - 2021

ASMR is a phenomenon that was noticed, identified and named as a direct result of people socialising in the digital world. It is a mix of 'rest and digest' type physical sensations, triggered particularly by visual and aural stimuli. It works especially well in a video format and has become a huge creative genre since around 2010.

Since I often experience ASMR, I was interested in creating some and set up the Booboo Kiki ASMR channel.

The name of the channel Booboo and Kiki comes from an experiment about the 'Bouba and Kiki effect'. Scientists asked people to draw how each word sounded to them. Universally, across languages and cultures,  booboo was a round shape and kiki a sharp, angular shape. So it relates very well to the sound-image relationship in ASMR and the landscape of ASMR which ranges from soft to aggressive.

More Crystal Palace London. I used to live there. I miss it, especially the park where this was filmed. There were many different 'zones' in the park: woodland, skatepark, balcony with a view, dinosaur and sphinx sculptures, cool café, high walk. So much. Loved it.
